Community Involvement
Community involvement has always been an important part of my life and work. I’m grateful to support local schools and nonprofit organizations through volunteering, fundraising, communications and wellness — especially organizations focused on kids, education, health and animals.
Girls on the Run of Maricopa County
I’ve supported Girls on the Run of Maricopa County in several roles over the years, including as a volunteer coach, Running Buddy and Pace Team member. I’ve also provided PR and communications support to help share the organization’s mission and impact.
More recently, I’ve continued supporting Girls on the Run through Breathe & Flow Yoga with Jennifer by donating a private group yoga experience to its annual silent auction.
Girls on the Run combines so many things I care about—movement, confidence, connection and helping girls discover what they’re capable of—and I’m grateful to have been involved with the organization in so many different ways.
Supporting My Local School Community
Some of my favorite volunteer hours are spent at my local elementary school, where I help support the library, classrooms and school community.
I volunteer regularly in the school library, helping shelve and organize books, assist students, create displays and tackle larger projects such as inventory. Throughout the year, I also help with classroom activities, school events and the annual book fair, and serve as a room parent.
As someone who loves books, education and community, getting to spend time helping make school a welcoming and engaging place for kids is especially meaningful to me.
Saving One Life
Every other week, I volunteer at a Saving One Life adoption center caring for cats who are waiting to find their forever homes.
That means plenty of cleaning and practical care, but one of the best parts is simply spending time with the cats—socializing, playing and helping them feel comfortable while they wait for their families.
Supporting animal rescue in such a hands-on way has become a meaningful part of my regular volunteer routine (and spending a couple of hours with cats certainly isn't a bad perk).
Epilepsy Foundation Arizona
I’m proud to support Epilepsy Foundation Arizona and its work in the local community through Breathe & Flow Yoga with Jennifer. Epilepsy Foundation Arizona’s work has become especially meaningful to my family following my husband’s recent diagnosis with epilepsy.
As part of that support, I donated a private group yoga experience for up to 10 participants to help raise funds through the organization’s silent auction. It’s one small way I can use the work I already love (bringing people together through accessible movement and wellness) to support organizations doing important work in our community.
Community Partnerships
I’m always happy to hear from Arizona schools, nonprofits and community organizations looking for volunteers, wellness partnerships or in-kind support.
While I can’t accommodate every request, I especially love opportunities centered on kids, education, wellness, animals and building stronger communities.
